On September 26, the Science Communication Department organized an activity for the docents to visit the collection storehouse in hope of enriching their comprehensive service capacity by allowing them to appreciate the richness, rarity and scale of the collections.

The head of the Collections Department led the tour personally and explained thoroughly the diversity of the specimens and fossils in the collections. Limited by the gallery space in the current venue, a large part of the collections haven’t been shown to the public. From this visit, the docents became aware of the behind-scene foundation for all current and future exhibitions and they can draw upon this experience to make more interesting representations to the visitors later.
