Dinosaur Mummies—the Condensed History
Based on the mummy fossils of Psittacosaurus found in western Liaoning and the image of ancient Egyptian pharaoh mummy, the exhibition Dinosaur Mummies—the Condensed History shows in detail the formation of dinosaur mummy: death—drying—burying—petrification—exposure.
The exhibition also introduces the members and distribution of certain Psittacosaurus, including Psittacosaurus mongoliensis, Psittacosaurus sinensis, Psittacosaurus meileyingensis; and displays famous fossils such as Confuciusornis, Microraptor, Dromaeosaurus, Liaoxiornis delicates, and Monjurosuchus, as well as the renowned fossils of dinosaur mummies such as Brachylophosaurus and Edmontosaurus.
Dinosaur mummies incorporates some novel concepts and techniques in the design, highlighting knowledge, interest and entertainment. Many precious fossils of ancient creatures are rarely exhibited, and the fossils of baby Psittacosaurus are exceptionally impressive.
The exhibition is divided into the following five parts:
1. The formation of mummified fossils
2. Dinosaur mummies
3. Introduction to Psittacosaurus
4. Psittacosaurus’s parental behaviors—evidences from fossils
5. Skin fossils
