Public Lecture: Stories of Pollination
published:2011-08-19
Most flowering plants have to get their pollen transported to the stigma of other flowers of the same species in order to accomplish the sexual reproduction. Because the natural environments are so varied, the mission to transport the pollen is accomplished in very different ways, though mainly with the help of animals. On July 20, 2011, Ms. Bi Haiyan, BMNH associate researcher, gave a public lecture to resolve the mysteries of pollination in plain language. The audiences were very interested and exchanged ideas actively with Ms. Bi.
